Items more than 28 days overdue may attract an
infringement penalty of $20. Short-term loan items may attract an infringement
penalty earlier than 28 days.
Items which are overdue and have a hold (request) placed
on them, and which are not returned within 7 days of receiving the RECALL
notice, will attract an
infringement penalty of $20 per item.
Items overdue from participating libraries of CAVAL reciprocal borrowing
programme may also attract an additional Victoria University infringement penalty of $20.
Items Not Returned/Lost/Damaged Items:
Will normally attract a penalty for non-return of $125 per item.

Payment Methods |
Payments can be made using any one of the following methods:
- At Campus Libraries: students can add money to their student
cards using the Autoloaders, then present to the Service Desk
where the money is then debited from their card
- Via the online credit card payment system at:
http://librarypayments.vu.edu.au/
- By cheque, cash, EFTPOS or credit card (see below) at the
Student Service Centres:
- the library will give the student a deposit slip if they
come to the Service Desk at the library
- students can view their library record at the Student
Service Centres to determine how much they owe the library
at:
https://library.vu.edu.au/patroninfo~S0/
Library Payments will be processed during standard business hours
(9am -5pm) only. If payments are made outside of business hours,
payment will be processed during next business day.
Stop At Student Administration (which may not allow you to re-enrol,
graduate or get your results) is applied for all types of materials
and loans, immediately after the Infringement Notice. Items will be
at least 28 days overdue. Stops are also placed for patrons who have
returned items, but not paid outstanding infringements.
Student records will not be cleared until all items borrowed from
the library are returned or paid for including Infringement fines. |

Credit Card Payment instructions for
Lost/Damaged Books and/or Infringements |
- During business hours, payments can be made by credit card at Student
Service Centres. Your
record can be cleared within 2 hours if payment is made during business hours.
- Alternatively, credit card payments may be made using our
Online Secure Payment System -
see
http://librarypayments.vu.edu.au/. Payments made online will generate an
automatic email to the Library informing them of the payment. Your record
will be cleared within one business day.
Credit card payment is not accepted via the telephone.
Please ensure all items incurring an infringement are returned.
Payment using the online payment system will not be accepted if items
have not be returned or paid for. Use the Non-returned item amount to
pay for items that are not returned. Contact the library if you need to
know the amount owing. |
