 CAVAL Reciprocal Borrowing (Non-VU Patrons)

CAVAL is a reciprocal borrowing program that allows staff and students of participating libraries to borrow material from other participating libraries.

Registering to Borrow at VU Libraries
You will need to bring a current staff or student card from your home institute along with a current authorised CAVAL card.

New enrolments may not be possible 30 minutes before closing time.

Not for Loan to CAVAL Borrowers

The following materials is not available:

  • Audio Visual Equipment
  • Journals
  • Reference Material
  • Some restrictions apply to materials from the library collection, including IELTS materials and off-air recordings.
Renewals
Overdues
  • You cannot borrow if you have overdues
  • Once an item becomes overdue, borrowing privileges are suspended until the item is returned
  • For enquiries regarding overdues please ring 9919 7424
Services
  • Library Link Victoria (LLV) Access is available
  • CAVAL patrons have access to the electronic resources where no authentication process is required. In most Campus Libraries this is made available via specified terminals. Users are not  able to book equipment or displace Victoria University students from using PCs.

This does not include access to the VU Wireless network or general Internet usage.

  • Scan-to-Email facilities are available throughout all campuses, enabling you to scan material and send it to your email in PDF format.
  • 3 hold (reservations) maximum
