BONUS+ is a resource-sharing project
that allows all staff and students of the member universities to request (hold)
selected library materials from other institutions within Australia and
New Zealand.
The service is free-of-cost to the user.Current member
institutions include:
- Deakin University
- Massey University (NZ)
- Murdoch University
- University of Ballarat
- University of Melbourne
- University of Newcastle
- University of Technology Sydney
- Victoria University
In addition, staff and students who have joined the National
Reciprocal Borrowing Scheme (NRBS/ULA) are eligible to use the BONUS+
scheme. |

How To Place a Request (Hold) |

Search the Victoria University
Library Catalogue.

If the item is not available within VU, click on the
link
displayed on the results page of the VU catalogue to continue the
search/search for the item within the BONUS+ catalogue.

Once you have located the item you wish to request (hold) within the BONUS+
catalogue, click on the
REQUEST THIS ITEM link

When the question: With which library are you registered? appears:

Select Victoria University from the drop-down box
provided

Click on the
button.

If you attempt to request (hold) an item from a participating institution that
is also available at VU, the following message will be displayed:

The Request Verification page will appear.

Your PIN: (Personal Identification Number)

Choose a Pickup Location: Pickup Locations are limited to VU campus library locations only.
Items CANNOT be picked up from the participating institutional library.

button.
Requests (holds) can be cancelled by patrons if the item has not already been
dispatched by the supplying library. If the item is in transit - or has
already arrived - and you do not require it, contact the library service desk at
your campus and request that the hold be cancelled.
The
number of simultaneous requests (holds) per borrower is limited as follows:
- Undergraduates: 5 requests/holds
- Staff/Post-graduates: 10 requests/holds (includes Masters, PHD &
Post-Graduates)
- BONUS+
requests (holds) are counted toward your
normal 10 holds for VU Library
items.

How to Check Request Status in 'My Library'' |
- You can check the progress of your request (hold) by logging into My Library. Once
the book has arrived at VU, you will be notified by email when your book
will be ready for collection.

Borrowing Terms & Conditions |
- Approximate delivery times: within 2-4 working days (within Victoria) /
within 4-7
working days
(interstate)
- Items will be available for collection from the relevant service desk of
the campus library selected for pick up.
- Loan Period: 21 days
- Items can be renewed for an additional 21 days - excepting
where the item has been placed on hold by another patron, recalled by the
supplying institution or overdue.
- Items cannot be renewed more than once
- Items must be returned to a VU campus library. DO NOT return the
item to the supplier institution.
- Replacement costs for lost items: AU$125 per item (inc AU$25 processing
cost)

materials
- It is possible to request (hold) an item even if it is out-on-loan
- Items CANNOT be requested where there is a matching VU item that is
available
- Serials, high-use and special collection items will generally be
unavailable to request
- This service is available to VU staff and students, and staff and
students who have joined the National Reciprocal Borrowing Scheme (NRBS/ULA) only
- Alumni, external
and CAVAL
borrowers are UNABLE to access this service

Whilst
it is possible for a Non-VU patron from a participating institution to
place a request (hold) on an item using the VU Library Catalogue, the pick-up
location will remain their home institution. Items CANNOT be
picked up from Victoria University. |
