The Library ' s goal is to support this by providing consistent, basic services at the time you, as a student, require it.
VU Library works in close cooperate with VU Disability Services to support the library services and resources that need to be provided to students with a disability.

• Library Service Charter

• Retrieval of items from the shelves

• Checking the library catalogue / database or web navigation

• One-to-one library orientation sessions

* Registration with Disability Services not required

• One-to-one assistance with complex photocopying eg. enlargements

• Extended loan periods on selected items

• Use of Disability room (@ Footscray Park, St Albans and Sunbury campus libraries) / specialist equipment

• Access to course-related materials in alternative formats - for example: via Interlibrary Loans for Braille/talking books, or conversion of e-reserve materials

Victoria University campus libraries have a range of adaptive equipment and facilities including:

• Accessible work stations
• Private study/discussion rooms
• Zoom text software on PCs
• Audio Loop

Please check with your campus library, as equipment is not available at all campuses.

While library staff may be able to assist with use of library or basic equipment, it is anticipated, should you need more specialised adaptive equipment,  that you know how to use it.
