Victoria University Library transforms the University
community through knowledge and information management resources
and services that support collaborative, flexible and life long
learning, teaching and research. Library staff expertise,
coupled with evolving technologies, facilitates a
client-focussed and seamless service.
VU's Learning Commons initiative is transforming library and
educational support across the University. The concept puts the
student "at the centre" and provides a "one stop shop" for
Library, IT, Careers and Learning Support services, to create a
dynamic environment for learning and teaching.
In addition to offering traditional library collections and
services, the Learning Commons provides flexible, social and
study spaces and extensive student computing services, with
access to staff expertise, for a supported learning experience.
Learning Commons are part of the University’s response to the
changing needs of today’s dynamic study and work environments,
and are part of VU’s overall commitment to make its students
future, work and career ready.
