WebBridge Linking between the Catalogue/Databases/Other Resources
WebBridge provides context-sensitive links that enable patrons to find other, related resources, at the click of a button.

For example, WebBridge provides:

  • search links from the catalogue to databases and Internet resources (e.g. Ebsco, Web of Science, Google);
  • links from catalogue item records to find these exact items in databases and Internet resources;
  • linking between databases to find other sources for full-text material;

Each resource is offered only if specific criteria are met based on elements from the record of the patron's search.

Linking from the Catalogue to Other Resources (Matching Search Criteria)
After performing a search on the library catalogue, it is then possible to use the Other Resources button to connect to the databases and other internet resources using the same search criteria.

The Other Resources button can be easily identified at the top-right of the page.

After performing a search on the library catalogue and locating a particular item record, it is then possible to use the Other Resources link to connect to the databases and other internet resources looking for the same item.

The Other Resources button can be easily identified at the bottom of each item record on the search results page.  It can also be found in the top-right of the full item record.

After performing a search/locating a record on a WebBridge-compatible database, it is then possible to use the Check Other Sources for Full-Text Availability link to connect to other databases to search for these articles using the same search criteria.  Please be aware that these searches may not necessarily turn up a matching item in the alternative database.

Alternatively, it is also possible to link to the library catalogue searching for just the journal title in question.

The Check Other Sources for Full-Text Availability link in these compatible databases can be easily identified as follows:

  Check Other Sources for Full-Text Availability or Other Sources for Full-Text Availability.
