The 2006 winners of this award are:
- Footscray Park
Library Staff for their contribution
to the terrific Library Annual Customer
Service Survey result. Victoria University
Library is in the top 25% of academic libraries
benchmarked by Ambit (34). In 2005, we were in
the top 50%. Most of the respondents in the
survey were Footscray Park students who
obviously value the service by the friendly,
approachable and professional Footscray Park
Staff.

This award recognises quality improvement and innovation
demonstrated by Library Staff. |
- John Prentice
(Senior EIS Officer) who is tucked away in a quiet corner of St Albans campus library.
John is the Library's Electronic Information Services Officer. John has been with the library for
many years in various guises however it is for his work in the Electronic Information Systems and Services
(EISS) team that he has won the Victoria University Library Staff Quality Award for 2006.
He is an important part of the EISS team and
often juggles many different projects. In 2006
he totally revamped the library's online
database and forms for collecting statistics
about annual library training. This data is
invaluable for reports and keeping track of the
high volume of classes offered each year by our
liaison staff.
John did a tremendous job and his hard work,
diligence and friendly demeanour is appreciated
by all his colleagues.

Outstanding Contribution Awardd |

This award
recognises contributions to the quality of student learning
support. |
- Jenny Comley for her excellent contribution
and collaboration in the B.Ed program (HEB1010
Language, Technology & Education).
Jenny has been teaching and tutoring in this
course for six years and has co-presented a
paper on her work at Learning Matters. She has
made a significant individual contribution to
student learning and is always willing to share
her expertise with her colleagues.
Jenny is the Campus Librarian at Melton and
her work embedding information literacy into the
curriculum of the course is a benchmark for
other library staff working in this area. The
Library will be encouraging her to apply for the
2007 Vice-Chancellor awards.

A special mention was given to
John
Tripotseris the Reference Librarian at City
Flinders Learning Commons to acknowledge the
great work he does at City Flinders. For the
last three years John has been most nominated
library staff member.
